Books About Resistence To Read With Your Neighbors

I have to be honest, I don't think I have the capacity to offer you my usual level of depth or nuance or to even articulate my thoughts well. We just watched as our government happily condemned millions of us to hunger, suffering and death. And while the fight is not over and there is plenty of work to be done, today I am not ok, as I am sure many of you are not ok.

I wanted to make sure I took a moment to say that to you.

Here is a list of books that offer a variety of perspectives on many of the conversations that we desperately need to be having with our neighbors. I am not going to pretend that I have all of the answers or that I even know what all of the right questions are. But here is what I do know: refusing to have these conversations only keeps us in this mess longer. It is long past time for Americans to make it our personal mission to educate ourselves and to sit down with our neighbors to ask questions together.

I am not going to describe each of these books as my list is going to be very long, but feel free to check them out or not. I just want them to be compiled and available for you. I may add more later or make some more focused posts with specific recommendations and thoughts. I may not. But for now, here are some books. I have read many of them, but not all of them. And of the one's I have read, I agreed with much of it, but not all of it. My goal here is to help make sure you have the resources to ask questions and stretch your thinking. Because I think it matters.

And remember, y'all. These moments never last forever. History tells us that. But it also tells us that change will require us to fight back. And educating ourselves is a massive part of that fight.

So happy reading. And no rush to dive in. Because if you are like me, you need a day or two to just be angry. And that's ok.
