It is time for one of my favorite parts of every book release... THE COVER REVEAL!

This September, we will be releasing Buzzard, a near-future Dystopian following one of the last Midwives in the United States with the necessary training and experience to perform safe abortions in a world where reproductive rights have been gutted and the country has been practically dissected and sold to the highest bidders. When our FMC is caught providing this necessary healthcare service to people in her community, she is arrested and thrown in prison, where she is exposed to human rights violations that she just cant ignore. Which leaves her with a choice: Does she get involved and risk never seeing her sons again, or does she keep her head down and hope that freedom is one day on the table?

I believe Buzzard is going to be one of the most important books released in 2026. It is a story that doesn't just look at the experience of suffering, but the conditions that make suffering so inescapable. Our main character--and the entire community of people around her--are fighting to tackle systems that oppress everyone and pointing to a trajectory of oppression that we are currently on.

Buzzard is a mirror that western readers desperately need to look into.

Why is the cover reveal significant?

This Friday, the 23rd, is our opportunity to make sure that Buzzard takes a priority spot in people's TBR for this fall. People can only read so many books a year and, lets be honest, the majority of the book marketing happening around us is centered around cis, straight, white authors. One of our most important tasks as a community is to interrupt that scheduled programming and to put Black and brown stories in front of an online community that does not get sufficiently exposed to them.

If you are here, you are already a conscientious readers who is looking for, and exposed to, authors of color who are using their voice to say something important to the world. But unfortunately, that is not the community as a whole. Our goal is to combine our platforms and voices to make sure that the authors we are championing take up noticeable space in the bookish community.

Cover reveals are an excellent opportunity to do that.

This will be the first time that people actually see the book that we have been talking about for months. It will be the first time they can actually visualize it on their shelves, and in their hands. This is our opportunity to be loud and organized, to ensure that online bookish spaces take Buzzard and Inez Ray seriously.

AND IF WE DO IT RIGHT... it could also be one of the biggest moments of our pre-order campaign.

The first time someone sees the cover of a new book is a great opportunity to provide them with a killer pitch for the book AND a pre-order link. You've met us. We forget a book as quickly as we learn about it. So our job this friday (and over the next few months) is to be so present with our excitement for Buzzard that people have no choice but to pay attention to this amazing debut.

Which brings me to my ask:

I WOULD LOVE YOU TO BE A PART OF OUR COVER REVEAL.

My goal is for Friday to be a Buzzard takeover. I want to see this cover all over Instagram, TikTok, Threads, etc. I want every reader who logs onto social media to see this book, hear what its about, and have an opportunity to order their copy. And that is not going to happen with only me posting it. I am going to need as many people as possible to post the cover and pre-order link to your personal socials.

We did this with our reveal of Cry, Voidbringer and I think it made a massive impact on how well the book did. So I would like to do it EVEN BIGGER for Buzzard.
